Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:
Assist in tracking, analysing, and reporting sustainability metrics, including waste, water, energy consumption, and carbon footprint
Support data collection for EcoVadis and other sustainability audits, ensuring compliance and timely submission of required documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for waste, water and energy reduction, material reuse, and repurposing in operations
Assist in engaging employees in sustainability initiatives through awareness campaigns and training programs
Support the development and maintenance of sustainability policies, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory standards
Stay updated on emerging sustainability regulations and best practices, helping integrate them into business operations
Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the ESG programme, liaising with stakeholders including the community, charities and local government
Introduce biodiversity and environmental initiatives at both site level and community levels to enhance the company’s positive impact
Represent IDF as a sustainability champion both internally and externally, attending customer and internal presentations as required
Provide input into the business marketing strategy, championing the sustainability pillar, by supplying key data for digital and corporate marketing materials
Collaborate with customers to enhance their sustainability efforts and contribute to the company’s sustainable offerings
Drive internal sustainability engagement by communicating and encouraging sustainable behaviours and actions across the business
Skills / Qualifications / Experience:
A third-level qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related science discipline
A strong interest in sustainability within the food industry
Ability to collaborate effectively with other functions to achieve sustainability goals
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A proactive, self-motivated approach with a willingness to embrace new challenges
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and analysis
Strategic thinking ability to analyse and address sustainability topics relevant to the business
Note: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time. Some travel will be required. Appointment to this role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work in Ireland.
