Site Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

A strategic and commercially focused Operations lead with ultimate responsibility for ALL aspects of the Operations at TCFG Naas site with a particular focus on adding value to the business

Reports to:

Head of Food Safety & Manufacturing Compliance (dotted line to CEO)

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Manager, the responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:

General:

  • This results-focussed Senior Manager will be a key member of the management team. Leading our team of Operations, Production and Hygiene Managers and is accountable for the operational performance of all facilities on the Naas site ensuring the development and delivery of the growth strategy for TCFG

 

Operations:

  • Ultimately responsible for ALL prevailing operational metrics and targets (including, but not limited to production volumes and capacity management, yield control, costs of production, continuous improvement, waste management, health & safety, environmental etc)
  • Fully maximise each plant capability & capacity through effective leadership, established systems and processes being consistently applied and accurately measured against the business objectives Food

 

Safety / Quality / Health & Safety:

  • Liaise with relevant parties to ensure all facilities are operated and maintained to the highest standards of food safety, quality, GMPs, health & safety, and environmental standards
  • Overall responsibility for the operational aspects of all customer site visits and site audits

 

Management Reporting:

  • Ensure that all reports/documents/financial summaries/accounts necessary to run, measure and plan the operations of the business are performed to agreed deadlines, to appropriate frequency and with the requisite accuracy

 

NPD / Innovation:

  • Liaise with relevant parties to ensure the On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery of New products and New Process introductions from an Operational perspective.

 

Health & safety:

  • Maintain and drive a strong health and safety culture, procedures and standards across all areas of responsibility.

 

Environmental:

  • Ensure that all plants and processes operate with stated Environmental parameters including but not limited Water use, Effluent capture & Treatment, Energy use and Waste Management.

 

Cap-ex

  • Develop and justify multi-site operational capital budgets in accordance with company policy. Demonstrate financial discipline and compliance to overall site budget & customer agreed cost model

 

Lean & Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive the company’s continuous improvement programme for operations in all relevant areas using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies & principles

 

People Management

  • Implement best-in-class manufacturing standards and drive a strong culture of food safety, manufacturing excellence, health & safety and sustainability throughout each business unit
  • Fully maximise the team’s capability through effective leadership, established systems, clear lines of reporting, agreed KPI’s being consistently applied and accurately measured against the business objectives
  • Responsible for relevant employee appraisals, performance reviews, training, motivation, and personal development
  • Lead and drive a culture of staff engagement and communications throughout operations ensuring alignment with the overall Company strategy
  • Underwrite and communicate all People Management responsibilities as communicated by HR / SLT

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

  • A Third Level Qualification in a Business-related discipline (desirable)
  • 8 + years operational experience or applicable experience with a minimum of 3 years interacting at senior leadership level
  • Demonstrated strong operational & commercial awareness and judgement and the ability to develop clear strategies and capitalise on situations as they arise
  • Highly proficient in collating, analysing, and presenting data to support decision making
  • Proven people management and experience of successfully leading a 24/7 multi-site operation essential
  • Proactive, strategic, and innovative approach to management
  • Strong operational & commercial awareness and judgement
  • Strong relationship management skills with a range of stakeholders (employee, customer, vendor/contractor)
  • Thorough understanding of ALL relevant Regulatory, Food Safety, Customer Codes of Practice H&S and Environmental requirements relevant to TCFG
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Be a strong leader who can encourage others to take ownership and responsibility
  • Hands on approach / Manage by walk about
  • Strong decision-making capability informed and driven by Science & Data
  • Demonstrate hands on strategic ability to implement Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Ability to challenge the “status quo” and initiate change in a constructive and professional manner
  • Possess excellent business acumen and ability to understand processes and variables
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, optimistic, can-do attitude, be very organized
Note: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time. Some travel will be required. Appointment to this role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work in Ireland
