Packing Supervisor

Production

Job Purpose:

To co-ordinate activities in the packing area, so that Production, Commercial, Human Resources, Quality and Safety requirements are achieved on an ongoing basis.

Reports to:

Production Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising personnel in the packing area
  • Performance Management of packing staff (Review’s/Appraisals)
  • Making sure that packing sheets are completed in full and all pallets are booked onto Insight
  • Making sure best before dates are recorded and are correct
  • Adherence to Quality and Standard Operating Procedures in all areas
  • Providing management information such as waste and rejects
  • Liaise with maintenance on Engineering issues and repairs
  • Liaise with the cleaning crew on specific issues and any joint activities
  • Review the weekly plan and identify any issues
  • Liaise with Production Manager on Training needs
  • Liaise with Production Manager on recruitment needs
  • Health and Safety Auditing
  • QA activities including product micro sampling, complete glass log on a weekly
  • Hygiene Auditing
  • To ensure the health and safety of all operatives in the above area
  • Recording accidents in H/S folder and accident investigation
  • Liaise with Management Accounts/Projects Supply Chain Team to reconcile finished stocks and investigate losses – Identify problems, fix root causes of errors, continuous improvement
  • Identify process and systems improvements to reduce costs
  • Maintaining all areas in a clean and hygienic state at all times
  • Managing staff hours, holidays and approved absence, ensuring production needs are always met
  • Printing of labels and learning the bar-coding system
  • All sheets to be left in Supervisors office at end of shift and area to be left clean

  • Numerical (Access/Stocks/Reconciliation)
  • Communication skills
  • Completion of Supervision Course
  • Quality systems knowledge
Note: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time. Some travel will be required. Appointment to this role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work in Ireland.
