Site Quality Manager

Job Purpose:

Oversee manufacturing from a technical perspective. Management and coordination of the approvals, regulatory requirements and quality systems. Key point of contact with regulatory 3rd parties and customer technical contacts. Management of the technical and quality team.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Work to develop and roll-out the companies’ strategic vision translating key deliverables into everyday action.
  • Develop and contribute to a high-performance atmosphere.
  • Customer presentations and management of the technical and quality projects with the customer base.
  • Perform as a strategic partner at a management level to head the Food Safety & Quality function and to influence change and new processes.
  • Lead and direct different cross-functional programs and projects of varied sizes and types concurrently.
  • Contribute and influence strategic direction for senior leadership using informal and formal communication.
  • Manage and attain customer expectations and ensure delivery fulfil expectations.
  • Ensure to exercise decision-making and independent judgment while being aligned with customers and management.
  • Drive and implement plant wide process and quality system improvements.
  • Direct the HACCP team for the purpose of ensuring a fully integrated food safety business model drives the operations at Glenpatrick.
  • Be the key challenging food safety player during the introduction of new products and new engineering processes/equipment.
  • Continuous measurement and gap analysis of business processes to ensure compliance to food safety and food quality standards.
  • Oversee the risk assessment programme for raw materials, suppliers, process activities and new process introduction within the production facility.
  • Establish networking with supporting food safety bodies such as FSAI, Campden, BRI and other relevant governing bodies.
  • Possess a probing and investigative mind-set in the investigation of customer/supplier complaints and adopt a pro-active approach in the prevention of customer complaints in conjunction with the quality management team.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

  • Diploma or higher in a Food Science/Technology
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • In-depth knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality control procedures, food safety regulations, and industry best practices
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement – must have a can-do disposition and be resilient.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose effective solutions, and make informed decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, with the capability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of work
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP, GMP), quality management systems (e.g., ISO), and relevant certifications (e.g., SQF, BRC)
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in food manufacturing
